Assessment

I knew that I wanted to have something that I could take my family out in, but also be fast and furious when I want it to be. If anyone have ever driven an old VW beetle, fast nor furious are words that would be used to describe them. So I knew that somethin' needed to be done about that. My solution, put a turbo on it. Justin's friend Chris was kind enough to provide me with a turbo from an older Volvo! Integrated waste gate and pressure relief valve on the intake side. That makes for an easy, clean installation.

Where it begins

The Craigslist Add
The above ad is what I found in my month of searching for a project car. I had sold my 2001 Raptor and was without something to take out to the desert and I was also looking for something I could take my family out in. The baja seemed like a good route, I knew a lot about them to begin with, and the price is pretty hard to beat. The best part about this baja is, when I went to go look at it, I knew the kid that owned it. He was in our old ward, the Crane Family. Then it turns out that the cousins are in our current ward (who'd a thunk). Small world. But here is when I got home.

I set the front clip on it just for the photo shoot. I bought it August 8th for $1000.00.

In the beginning

I've been saying to Shelly for a while, "I should start a blog and show everyone all the little projects that I do". But of course, I never do. But, finally here it is. I don't know if I'll like doing this or not, but here's giving it a try.
